Wilfred Lamtaaba Sa-Ambo

Wilfred Lamtaaba Sa-Ambo is an environment, climate, and sustainable development enthusiast with experience in climate research support, policy engagement, and youth-led environmental initiatives. His work reflects a growing interest in community-level climate resilience and the use of practical, science-informed approaches to environmental awareness.

Wilfred served as a National Service Personnel at the Institute for Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS), University of Ghana, where he supported environmental and sanitation research through field data collection, research coordination, and workshop facilitation. His exposure to diverse field settings and interdisciplinary research teams strengthened his analytical skills and deepened his understanding of Ghana’s environmental and climate challenges.

He has also been actively involved in youth environmental initiatives on the University of Ghana campus, coordinating activities focused on climate change education, disaster risk reduction, and circular economy awareness, particularly around plastic waste. Through volunteering with youth-focused civil society groups, he has contributed to policy conversations and gained experience in climate advocacy, natural resource governance, and environmental stewardship.

Wilfred holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geography & Resource Development with French from the University of Ghana and is currently pursuing an MPhil in Climate Change and Sustainable Development. He is passionate about bridging research for policy advocacy, public engagement, and community action to advance sustainable development and climate resilience in Ghana and beyond.
