The Africa Centre for Nature-Based Climate Action (AC4NCA) held its 3rd Board Meeting on 20th November 2025, marking another important step in strengthening the Centre’s governance, strategic direction, and continental influence in the climate space. The meeting brought together board members to assess progress, refine programmatic priorities, and accelerate efforts to scale Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) across Africa.
Opening the meeting, Global Lead of AC4NCA, Hon. Samuel A. Jinapor, commended the Centre’s rapid progress in establishing strong institutional foundations within a relatively short period.
“I am very impressed with the progress made so far. The evidence is clear. We are building an organization with credibility, competence, and a clear mandate. Our commitment is unwavering,” he stated.
Since its inception, AC4NCA has earned recognition for convening strategic high-level dialogues and contributing to national policy discussions. The Board reviewed critical achievements, including strengthened internal systems, increased visibility, new partnerships, particularly with international organizations working on Nature-Based Solutions and the development of technical programmes for implementation in Ghana and beyond.

Delivering her remarks, Board Chair of AC4NCA, Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee, commended the board members for their dedication and service to the Centre. She also announced that AC4NCA will scale up its programmes and initiatives in 2026.
“We are deeply grateful for the commitment and expertise of our board members. Their guidance has been instrumental in shaping AC4NCA’s journey. As we look ahead to 2026, we are excited to expand our initiatives, strengthen our partnerships, and deliver greater impact across Africa,” she stated.
The meeting highlighted several next steps, including deepening research outputs, expanding partnerships with governments and development agencies, and scaling community-led restoration and conservation projects. Board members also reiterated the Centre’s commitment to transparency, stakeholder engagement, and youth inclusion in all programme activities.

As AC4NCA strengthens its regional and global footprint, the Centre remains focused on delivering innovative and evidence-based interventions that support both climate resilience and sustainable livelihoods.
With a solid foundation now in place, AC4NCA is poised for its next chapter—one defined by scale, impact, and continental leadership in Nature-Based Climate Action.
